Photograph of the drawing room of Grand Duke Friedrich Wilhelm of Mecklenburg-Strelitz at Schloss Neustrelitz. There is a small table in the centre of the room and a number of chairs around the edges. To the left is a window and there is a fireplace to the right. Another room can be seen through the open door on the far wall.
Schloss Neustrelitz was the principal palace of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The palace was destroyed by fire in 1945. The Mecklenburg-Strelitz family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III. -
