Photograph of the morning room of Grand Duke Friedrich Wilhelm of Mecklenburg-Strelitz at Schloss Neustrelitz. There is a sofa and several chairs around a small table. To the right there is a desk and another table, both covered by books and ornaments. There are a number of framed paintings on the wall, some portraits and others landscapes.
Schloss Neustrelitz was the principal palace of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The palace was destroyed by fire in 1945. The Mecklenburg-Strelitz family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III. -
