Photograph of the dining room at Schloss Neustrelitz. In the centre of the room there is a table covered by a cloth with a large chandelier hanging above. On the far wall there is an open door with windows to either side. The edges of the room are lined with furniture including tables, sofas and chairs. There are paintings on the walls and a large patterned carpet on the floor.
Schloss Neustrelitz was the principal palace of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. It was destroyed by fire in 1945. The Mecklenburg-Strelitz family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III. -
