Photograph of a painting by the painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-82) of Saint Antonio kneeling on the ground with his arms outstretched as a vision in which a winged cherub surrounded by other putti and cherubs, appear in the air before him.
Murillo was a Spanish Baroque painter who established his reputation as Seville's foremost painter with his works featuring a variety of religious subjects. He was also acclaimed for his paintings of men, women and children in everyday settings.Provenance
