A Temple at Dumbul 1866
-
Photograph of a temple at Dumbul. This was located in the same neighbourhood as the temple at Kirwuttee and is distinguished by a well preserved Vimana (sanctuary). It was never, however, completely finished as the string-courses on the roof of the cella were only roughly carved out. Despite this, the text describes the roof as particularly graceful.
Today known as Dambal, the village is located in the Gadag District of the state of Karnataka. It boasts three impressive Hindu temples. -
