Temple at Hurulhullee 1866
-
Photograph of a temple at Hurulhullee. The temple is much more complete in its details than that at Someswar (shown in RCIN 2603922) and has not been whitewashed. All the stone carvings have thus retained their original sharpness and beauty.
Hurulhullee was a town located thirteen miles east of Hullabeed. The temple belonged to the period of the Bellala dynasty, which erected the great temples at Belloor and Hullabeed. It was later in date and inferior in quality of ornamentation to the great temples of the capital, although it was dedicated to the same god, Siva. -
