Photograph of the south entrance of the Great Temple at Hullabeed. In the background, at the top of a flight of stairs, the entrance is flanked by the figures of two female Hindu deities. Standing on the steps In the right foreground there is a man with his back to the viewer, wearing a drab khaki military uniform and a sun helmet.
The base of the temple is elaborately decorated with a series of horizontal bands of stone carving which, starting from the lowest level, depict a procession of elephants with figures mounted on them, a frieze of Shardalas (tigers, which are the emblem of the Bellala dynasty) and a frieze of horsemen. -
