Photograph of a three storeyed terraced building in Princes Street, Edinburgh with a columned entrance and balistrade roof. A balistrade balcony is on the second floor with an arched lintel above the windows. Two street lamps outside entrance.
This is one of a set of views of Edinburgh made by Ross & Thomson in 1849 and sent to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as 'Calotype Specimens'. James Ross and John Thomson were subsequently granted a Royal Warrant as 'Photographers at Edinburgh to Her Majesty' on 14 June 1849.Provenance
