Photograph showing a view of the Achill Sound with the Michael Davitt Bridge connecting Achill Island to the mainland on the right of the photograph. The bridge was built in 1886 and opened a year later. In the foreground there is a beach area littered with seaweed. A few scattered buildings are standing on the opposite side of the water with a mountain in the distance.
