Photograph of the bustling Royal Avenue in Belfast, as viewed from Castle Junction. The pavements are lined with street lamps and tall buildings flank the street on both sides. On far the left of the photograph there is a building with round arches and a triangular pediment on the facade. Other buildings include the Grand Central Hotel, which is standing on the left of the street with the name of the hotel on the facade. Various modes of transport can be seen in the photograph. There are people walking on the pavements whilst horse and carts travel along the road. Tramlines run down the middle of the road, and in the foreground there are two horse-drawn trams travelling in opposite directions.
