Positioned on the corners of the tower are three smaller statues of lions holding shields. Several flying buttresses can be seen around the base of the tower with a fence surrounding the bottom of the memorial. There are tramlines on the road in front of the memorial, and a line of horse and carts travels down the street behind the tower.
