Photograph taken from a high vantage point of Sackville Street, which was later officially renamed O'Connell Street, with O'Connell Bridge in the foreground. The street is flanked on either side by buildings and shops. Memorial statues line the centre of the street with Nelson's Pillar in the distance. There are a number of people walking along the pavements whilst others travel by horse and cart. Tram lines can be seen on the road and in the foreground there is a tram with an advertisement for Ogden's cigarettes on the side.
