Stereoscopic photograph of Waverley Bridge in Edinburgh as viewed from Prince's Street in the New Town area of the city. Underneath the bridge is the railway line with carriages on the tracks. To the left of the foreground stands a glass conservatory type building. Over the bridge in Edinburgh's Old Town, is Cockburn Street, with the Cockburn Hotel and the rear of the Royal Exchange building dominating those around it. On the right of the background is the tower of St Giles Kirk.
Today, Waverley Bridge forms part of the roof of Waverley Train Station in Edinburgh. The present bridge was constructed during the mid 1890's.Provenance
