Photograph of Queen Elizabeth II standing in full length and facing three-quarters to the right. Illuminated by light from the window on her right, the Queen wears an evening dress with a fur stole over her left arm. In the background hangs a portrait of Queen Alexandra.
A series of four photographs were commissioned by the Royal Household from the American photographer Annie Leibovitz to mark The Queen’s State Visit to the United States of America in 2007.
This photograph is a composite image. Queen Elizabeth II was photographed against a grey background in an adjacent room and digitally superimposed onto this image of the White Drawing Room in post-production. This was the last portrait in the sequence, drawing the shoot to a close within the allotted 25 minutes.Provenance
