Photograph of the ground on which the 1877 Delhi Durbar was held. On the right in the background stands the central dais or Royal Pavilion, topped with a single crown. In the middle of the photograph is the side of one of the audience stands, hung with a Union Jack and the Australian flag. In the foreground are many covered horse drawn carriages used to transport official guests to the ceremony including a man holding the reigns of a horse. In the background stands a single pole which, supported by guide ropes, is topped with a crown.
