Photograph of the head of a male youth angled to face three-quarters left. The bust stands on a plinth. Bedford had begun his photographic career documenting works of art in museum collections and as such was by the mid-1860s a very accomplished photographer of such works. In 1866-7, one of his final photographic projects was to document decorative art objects created by the architect and designer William Burges. Printed on sheet below image, 'No.66'. Plate from 'History of the recent discoveries at Cyrene, made during an expedition to the Cyrenaica in 1860-61... ' (1864) by R. Murdoch Smith.
