8.5" x 6.5" gelatin silver print showing a three-quarter length portrait of King George VI when Albert, Duke of York. He is standing, his body angled three-quarters left, his head facing forward. He is wearing a military uniform with ropes, sash, and various medals (Star of the Order of the Garter, Order of the Thistle; Royal Victorian Medal). His left hand is resting on the hilt of his sword. There is a table (adjacent left) with his plumed hat resting on it. The portrait is set against a neutral background.
