6.4" x 4.7" glass plate negative showing a three-quarter length portrait of Princesses Augusta Victoria (1858-1921) and Caroline (1860-1932) of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. Augusta Victoria is standing (at left), her body forward, her head turned three-quarters left, and she is holding a book in both of her hands. Caroline is standing (left) with her arms linked through Augusta Victoria's left arm, her body turned left, and her head turned almost fully to the left. Both are wearing dark-coloured dresses with layered, fringed bottoms, brooches, and bows at the bodice. Augusta Victoria is wearing a starburst shaped necklace. Corresponding gelatin silver print of negative: RCIN 2507636.
