Photograph of the cenotaph in the Memorial transept, Liverpool Cathedral. The cenotaph is rectangular in shape, carved from alabaster and set on a black and white marble plinth. The cenotaph is detailed with angels holding a crest, and a border of lion heads. On top of the cenotaph is a bronze case. On each corner of the case are angels facing inwards, back to back with depictions of kneeling airmen, soldiers, and sailors, facing outwards. The bronze case holds the Roll of Honour, listing the forty thousand men from the Liverpool area who lost their lives during the First World War. The lectern and choir pews are visible in the background.
