-
Photograph of a brick tower which features lancet windows, machicolations and a conical roof, in the middle of a courtyard with farm buildings. The tower appears to lean slightly to the right. Trees feature in the background. The photograph is captioned 'Agincourt Tower 1415' and was photographed on July 7th 1917, the date of King George V's visit. It has now been identified as a tower next to the Chateau de Tramecourt, a few miles from Agincourt. The chateau itself was built in the 17th-18th century. In July 1917, King George V and Queen Mary visited the Western Front and stayed at the Chateau overnight, with King Albert and Queen Elisabeth of Belgium, accompanied by the Prince of Wales. There are photographs of this visit in another album, compiled by Queen Mary, see RCIN 2303799 (and parts).
