Half-length photograph of Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar. He is looking to the right and is holding a sword in his left hand. He is wearing military uniform and a hat with a feather plume. The photograph is surrounded by two watercolour illustrations by the military artist Orlando Norie. The upper illustration shows soldiers shooting in a line and the lower illustration shows a military cart in a village. Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar served in the British army during the Crimean War and later became the Commander-in-Chief of the British forces in Ireland.
