Photograph of Sir William Fenwick Williams. He is standing facing partly left with his right hand resting on a pile of books on the wooden desk beside him to the left. He is wearing military uniform and is holding a sword in his left hand. There is a hat with a feather plume on the desk. There is a painted wall behind and a chair to the right. The photograph is surrounded by two watercolour illustrations of soldiers and guns by the military artist Orlando Norie. Sir William Fenwick Williams was renown for his defence of the town of Kars during the Crimean War.
