Photograph of Sir Alfred Hastings Horsford. He is sitting facing partly left with his legs crossed and a sword in his left hand. He is wearing the uniform of a General with a row of medals. There is a curtain draped beside him to the left. The photograph is surrounded by six watercolour illustrations of armed soldiers by the military artist Orlando Norie. Sir Alfred Hastings Horsford served as Military Secretary from 1874 to 1880.
