Photograph of three soldiers of the 2nd Regiment of Life Guards who served in the Anglo-Egyptian War. Regimental Corporal Major Robert Grieves is sitting on a chair at the centre of the group with Corporal Major Thomas George Entwistle standing to the left and Corporal William Storrer standing to the right. All are wearing military uniform and are carrying swords. There is a door behind them and plants are growing up the walls to either side.
The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist ‘Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt.
