Photograph of the memorial to commemorate the death of Napoléon, Prince Imperial of the French. There is a stone memorial cross with a pile of stones in front of it. The cross is surrounded by a low stone wall and there are steps to the right. Hills can be seen in the distance. Napoléon, Prince Imperial of the French served with the British army during the Anglo-Zulu War. He was killed in a skirmish with Zulu fighters in June 1879. Shortly afterwards his godmother Queen Victoria ordered a memorial to be built on the site of his death.
