Sekhukhune was the King of Sekhukhuneland, a small country in the Transvaal region of southern Africa. The British annexed the Transvaal in 1877, heavily resisted by Sekhukhune. He was ultimately defeated in 1879 and was imprisoned in Pretoria.Provenance
