The Charge of the Light Brigade was a charge of British light cavalry during the Battle of Balaklava, 25th October 1854. The heavy loses sustained and the subsequent poem by Lord Tennyson ensured that the scene continued to be of interest to British, French and Russian photographers decades after the event.
