From left to right: George Britton, Corporal John Hubbard, Corporal William Chast, Bombadier William Hewlett and Gunner Samuel Smith. They are standing on a raised gravel path with buildings behind and all are wearing military uniform with the Crimean Medal.
These soldiers were awarded the Crimean Medal by Queen Victoria on 18th May 1855 and were later photographed by T R Williams in Portsmouth.Provenance
