Group photograph of soldiers who worked at the British Headquarters during the Crimean War. From left to right are Mr Campbell from the Balaclava railway; William G Romaine the Deputy Judge Advocate; Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Blane (1809-71), the Military Secretary; Lieutenant-Colonel L Curzon (1829-91); Major William Boyle (1830-1908); Major-General Sir H Barnard (1799-1857); Dr Smith; Lieutenant Edward Chidde Cockburn (1858-1903); Lieutenant-General Sir William Codrington (1804-84); Captain Jasper Hall; Captain Arthur Ponsonby (1827-68) and Lieutenant-Colonel St George Gerard Foley (1814-97). All are wearing military uniform. The headquarters building can be seen behind. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.
