He holds a sword in his left hand. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.
Colonel Seymour served during the Crimean War and was injured during the Siege of Sevastopol. He later commanded the British troops in Malta.Provenance
