Photograph of Major General Sir William Eyre standing facing slightly left. Two fingers on his right hand are tucked into his jacket and he is holding a sword in his left hand. He is wearing military uniform and there is a bicorn hat with a feather plume on the table behind him to the left. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.
Major General Sir William Eyre served in the Crimean War and was injured during the Siege of Sevastopol.Provenance
