Set of eleven round backed Louis XV armchairs of beechwood, carved and gilded with stylised flowers above front knees, in centre of apron and on top rail. Supported on cabriole legs with acanthus moulding at feet. Upholstered in yellow silk damask. Modern gilding. This set was originally comprised of twelve chairs. Jean-Baptist Gourdin was a Parisian menuisier, specialising in chair furniture.
