A 8.5 x 6.5 inch (whole plate) negative of the Audience Chamber, now known as the Queen's Audience Chamber, at Windsor Castle in 1902. Interior view looking along the window bays. Two large Gobelins tapestry hung on the wall, on the left, is "The Coronation of Esther" (RCIN 35280); the other on the right is "The Triumph of Mordecai" (RCIN 35279). A pair of giltwood armchairs with embroidered upholstery (RCIN 20600), are placed below against the wall, either side of a serpentine front cabinet (RCIN 39228).
On the right is the door towards the Queen's Ballroom and the painting of "William II, Prince of Orange" by van Honthorst (RCIN 404406) is hung above it. Additional pieces of furniture include a mirrored lacquer cabinet, a white marble chimneypiece and vases of East Asian design. A circular centre table (RCIN 2525) is placed off to the right side. Grinling Gibbons oak carved panelling on the walls. Wreath and monogram patterned carpet lines the floor. -
