A 8.5 x 6.5 inch (whole plate) negative of the Picture Gallery, now known as the Queen's Drawing Room, at Windsor Castle in 1921. Interior view looking in from the doorframe of the King's Closet towards the windows.
Image showing various items of furniture and many paintings hung on the wall. Paintings include Canaletto's "The Grand Canal with Santa Maria della Salute looking East towards the Bacino" (RCIN 404397), Jan Provoost's "Triptych: Virgin and Child with Saint and Donors" (RCIN 405816), Salviati's "The Virgin and Child with an Angel" (RCIN 405778), Dughet's "Landscape with Figures Beside a Waterfall" (RCIN 405320) and "Titian and his Friends" (RCIN 402841).
There is a lacquer and gilt metal commode (RCIN 39206) and Levasseur secretaire (RCIN 29945) against the wall. Nearby there are various tapestry upholstered chairs (RCIN 31600) with a matching settee (RCIN 20165). On the right between the two windows there is a large giltwood mirror (RCIN 35314) with giltwood pier table and marble top (RCIN 35313). Pier table topped with a pair of gilt mounted vase candelabra (RCIN 35316).
The wall hangings have a repeating damask pattern. The wooden floor is exposed with two rugs of East Asian design. -
