A whole plate glass negative of Room 230, which was the Sitting Room of Princess Maud (consort of Prince Carl of Denmark, later King Haakon of Norway, daughter of King Edward VII). It is looking towards the fireplace with a large overmantel mirror, which holds a mantel clock (RCIN 2881), a pair of porcelain candlestick and bowls. On the right is a fitted banquette, set into the corner, above which are fitted shelves for small pieces of porcelain. A glazed firescreen sits in front of the fireplace. To the left is a small table with two porcelain dishes. A second table with a porcelain bowl is to the right. On the walls are two prints of paintings, one is Unconscious Rivals by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema and the other is The Music Lesson by Lord Frederick Leighton (at the Guildhall Gallery). There is also a watercolour portrait of Albert Victor, Duke of Albany by Herkomer (RCIN 917911) and a small photograph of Queen Alexandra in her wedding dress. Coal Scuttle RCIN 29766? Folding Table RCIN 29980. Dishes reflected in the mirror are RCIN 58086.1-6.The small Table, Coffee Pot and Cups, Sugar Bowl and Fireplace Surround have not been identified. This is the negative to 2936775, to compare to 2401927 (a 'before' shot).
