A 12 x 10 inch glass plate negative of three marquees or tents, in the grounds of Buckingham Palace (not seen). There is a rectangular marquee with decorative tasselled border or bunting, a square marquee with decorative roof and a circular marquee with decorated dome and port windows. Fingerprints visible on plate.
Similar marquees with these decorations were used at gardens parties at Buckingham Palace in the Golden Jubilee of 1887 (see RCIN 2915963-5) and the Diamond Jubilee of 1897 (see RCIN 2300748).Provenance
