-
Photograph of the stately home of Dunrobin Castle in the Sutherland area of Scotland. The castle is built in the style of a French chateau and was designed by Sir Charles Barry. In the centre of the castle and stepped back from the rest of the building, stands a clock tower with pyramidal roof. A large second tower stands at the left corner of the castle with another corner tower visible in the background. Trees flank the castle on either side.
Dunrobin Castle is the largest home in Scotland and incorporates elements of the 14th, 17th and 18th centuries together with the more recent 19th century alterations, within the building.Provenance
Acquired by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1972
