A pair of ewers, each formed from a bottle-shaped porcelain vase, decorated with famille rose enamels on a celadon ground with white and coloured emblems representing Buddhist symbols (wheel, umbrella, conch, pair of fish, endless knot and vase) and the Eight Daoist Immortals (the gourd, lotus spray, flower vase, flute, sword, fan, musical bamboo tube and pair of castanets). The vases are decorated with elaborate gilt-bronze mounts made by Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy around 1810. The spout is cast as a mask and the scroll handle as a female head.

A series of large celadon vases with enamelled decoration was acquired by George IV and mounted in gilt bronze, at first for Carlton House, but later to decorate the principal galleries at the Royal Pavilion, Brighton.
