The photograph is dated 1917 and has a number of handwritten annotations below. Prince Gabriel Constantinovich was the second child of Grand Duke Constantine Constantinovich. During the Russian Revolution he was imprisoned by the Bolsheviks along with other male relatives but was released in 1919. He spent his later years in exile in Paris.
