'Sandymount Chapel, Dublin' c.1880 after an original of c.1860
-
Photograph of an exterior view of St. John the Evangelist in Sandymount, Dublin. In the foreground is a fence and two men seated on a bench. The men face away from the camera, and look towards the church. They both wear dark clothing.
A carbon copy is adhered on top of the original albumen print. Carbon prints are more stable compared to albumen prints, the latter prone to fading. Carbon copies were therefore created for posterity.
