Photograph of Roslin Castle in Midlothian, Scotland, visible on the left and on a promontory that overlooks a valley populated by dense tree growth. The eastern façade is seen between two ruined towers that stand on either side. On the slopes leading down to the valley to the left are allotments.
Roslin Castle was built during the early 15th century by the Sinclair family but suffered damage from a domestic fire in 1452 and during the middle of the 16th century during the Anglo-Scottish wars. Today, the castle provides holiday accommodation.Provenance
