They are followed by the Home Secretary Edward Shortt (1862-1935) and his wife or possibly the Countess Fortescue, Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Mary. This took place during a visit to Birmingham on 21 May 1919 including a visit to the Children's Hospital at Five Ways and Cadbury's in Bourneville, as well as a parade by the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.
