Photograph taken at Papworth Hall in Cambridge, with Queen Mary and Princess Mary talking to four men including an Admiral. Queen Mary was visiting the pioneering treatment and aftercare centre for Tuberculosis. The Papworth Colony was founded in 1916 by Dr Pendrill Varrier-Jones in Boune, and later they moved into Papworth Hall with 17 patients and 4 staff in February 1918.
