A photograph of four people picking fruit from the ground in Frogmore gardens including Isobel S Hardy. There was a serious food shortage due to the successful blockage of imports by German U-boat targeting of shipping in 1917, and the royal family were keen to help with the war effort. Miss Hardy may be Lady Isobel Gathorne-Hardy (1875-1963) who was Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Mary between 1914-1920.
