Photograph of King George V (1865-1936) and Queen Mary (1867-1953) at a railway station in Paris, meeting President Raymond Poincare (1860-1934) and another man (not identified). The King is in full-dress uniform of the Admiral of the Fleet. Queen Mary wore an embroidered gown of pale blue silk crêpe, accessorised with a diamond brooch at her throat, a short pearl necklace, together with a posy inserted in at her waist, and wearing a hat piled up with bluish white ostrich plumes. The railway station may be Gare du Nord.
