A photograph showing the explosion of the bomb thrown by anarchist Mateu Morral, in the attempted assassination of King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain on the day of their wedding. The photograph shows the street Calle Major after the explosion, by the hotel where the assassin had thrown the bomb. There is a group of military troops in the foreground, people gathered in the doorway and the dead bodies of bystanders on the ground. 24 people were killed and over 100 people wounded.
