A photograph showing James Carroll (1857-1926) walking with the Duchess of Cornwall and York, later Queen Mary (1867-1953), on a visit to Tamatekapua Meeting House, Ohinemutu, on Lake Rotorua, New Zealand. The Duke of Cornwall and York, is behind with others, walking pass Māori people on the left. James Carroll was Minister of Native Affairs (today this role is called Minister for Māori Development) and was of Māori and Irish heritage.
