Rectangular coloured gold, silver and gold plate-mounted marquetry box, decorated all over with Chinese-inspired scenes of an interior and gardens, the hinged lid with inner border of chased, coloured gold with flowerheads and scrolling foliage, on a sablé ground, the remaining borders of silver plate, with regular foliate designs. Gilt interior.

Formerly in the Cambridge Collection. Bought by Queen Mary in 1911.
