Photograph of 7 Queen's Gardens in Hove, Brighton, the home of Reuben Sassoon (1835-1905), a tall, late-19th century mansion with balconies. His half-brother Alfred Sassoon lived at 8 King's Gardens, a prime location, similarly built, on the seafont. Part of Queen's Gardens was badly bombed during the second world war and demolished. The Sassoon brothers were friends with King Edward VII, who often stayed here, to help with his bronchitis and visit local friends.
