A photograph of the opening of the Town Hall in Richmond, 10 June 1893. There is an open carriage or landau with a number of people, including Prince George, Duke of York (1865-1936) and his fiancé Princess Mary of Teck (1867-1953), later Queen Mary, and various people outside the entrance, including possibly the Mayor of Richmond, Sir John Whittaker Ellis (1829-1912).
The Town Hall is now known as the Old Town Hall and houses the Local Archives and Museum of Richmond.Provenance
